A $1.5 million grant is helping complete the Norwalk section of the Norwalk River Valley Trail, officials announced.
The 30-mile trail stretches from Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk to Rogers Park in Danbury, passing through Wilton, Ridgefield, and Redding.
Once finished, it will be the longest recreational trail in Fairfield County.
Gov. Ned Lamont praised the project, saying, "One of the things they love about our parks and our trails is they're interconnected."
The 10-foot-wide trail is paved and stone-dust, and fully handicap accessible. Officials say it also helps bring more people to the area.
